Objectives of the Organisation
To create awareness of Organ Donation among BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) communities in United Kingdom.
To improve the understanding of organ donation among the different sectors of the BAME community through education, road shows and campaigning.
To create awareness of the NHS Organ Donor Register among the BAME community and encourage people to join register.
To understand the main reasons behind the disparity between the supply and demand of organs for BAME groups compared to others sections of UK society.
To build upon the notion of ‘gift’ related to organ donation that is culturally appropriate amongst BAME groups in UK society.
To work with religious stakeholders to develop practical solutions at the local level to remove cultural and religious barriers to donation.
